This is an eight week course on Monday evenings. The course begins on September 24th and runs until November 19th, with no October 8th class (Thanksgiving Weekend).
Patanjali's Yoga Sutra is the oldest written text on yoga and nearly every yogic tradition uses it as a guide for practice. But what is it, really? And what does it have to do with our busy, complicated world right now? This eight-week course will offer us a way to begin to study the Yoga Sutra and discover what yoga can offer us as we navigate our lives. Written over 1500 years ago, the Yoga Sutra is a practical description of how our mind and body works and how we can use them as tools to end suffering. It is a very useful guide to living a happier, more fulfilling life and its relevance to today has never been more urgent. Let's dive in together and see what it can teach us.
Each class will be 1.5 hours long and include lecture, discussion and ample time for questions. It will be held live online on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. NST. You will receive an invite to join an hour ahead of the start of class. Each class will be recorded so you will be able to watch it again later or view it if you need to miss it live. Information about accessing the recordings will be shared once you register. Class size will be limited to 25.
